Malifaux is the name of Wyrd's premier game. It is a skirmish level miniatures wargame involving gang warfare in the ruins of an abandoned city. According to the game's backstory, the city of Malifaux was discovered through a portal into another world. This world is a source of the valuable mineral known as "soulstone" which allows for magical effects. Games pit masters and their crews against one another for control of this resource.
Released at Gen Con in August '09, Malifaux uses a unique card mechanic in lieu of dice. Numbers are randomly generated by drawing numbered cards from a "Fate Deck." A number of mechanics in the game allow for manipulating this draw. Malifaux features five different factions and associated miniatures for use in their game:
The Guild
The Guild is the law in Malifaux. They exert a fascist control over the city and are more concerned with the production of soulstone than they are with the safety of its inhabitants. The Guild offers a mix of ranged and melee combat and aesthetically possesses a number of Wild West motifs.
The Arcanists
The Arcanists are represented by the Miners and Steamfitters Union in Malifaux, an organization that represents the labor class in the city. The Arcanists use the public's support to mask an underground crime syndicate that traffics black-market soulstone. Their primary strength is in the wide variety of spells they can cast and boast a number of mechanical and elemental constructs and beast minions.
The Resurrectionists
The Resurrectionists are necromancers who command forces of the undead. Where the other factions are concerned with collecting soulstones, the Resurrectionists loot the ruins of Malifaux for magical devices and tomes of knowledge. They are very resilient characters in play, with the ability to absorb a lot of damage and to raise dead models as additional combatants.
The Neverborn
The Neverborn are the native inhabitants of the world of Malifaux. They are nightmarish monsters that terrorize the human settlers in Malifaux. Their existence is linked with a calamity that occurred in the world's ancient past. They are known for their speed and abilities that confound their enemies. They possess few ranged attacks but are very deadly in melee combat.
The Outcasts
The Outcasts are a group of smaller interests unassociated with the major factions in Malifaux. A number of Outcasts are also mercenaries that may be hired by the other factions for use in their crews.

I know there has been a lot of Huzzah! email recently but this one deserves to go out and be read by as many people as possible. Look for posts on TMP and TGN, as well as our web page.
When Ken Eckhardt of Blue Moose Arts contacted Vallejo about obtaining some help with prizes for the Huzzah! painting contest he had no idea what he was getting into. Vallejo quickly offered assurance of their support but it was not until Ken arrived home Wednesday afternoon that he realized just how much support they would be providing to the convention.
On the porch at Ken's house were two large boxes, together weighing 60 pounds. The boxes contained approximately $2,000 worth of paint pots and sets!
So here is what we will do with this incredible donation. The first 150 registered attendees who arrive at the show will have an opportunity to spin the Vallejo Color Wheel. Where the needle stops, nobody knows, but attendees could win an individual paint pot, or a set valued at up to $48!
A HUGE thanks to Vallejo for their support of Huzzah! and our painting contest.

SRP: $49.00
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description:
The Kaiser's Pirates is a fast paced card game of gripping adventure on the high seas set during World War One. Players control some of Kaiser Wilhelm's ace German converted commerce raiders and light cruisers. Air Patrols were in their infancy and it was still easy to disappear into the vast expanses of the high seas only to re-emerge on another key sea lane. Players use their raiders in the traditions of the privateers and pirates of old to sink or capture as many Allied and neutral merchantmen as possible. Danger lurks everywhere but, in a desperate pinch, these ships can shoot it out with the British hunters.
In its unique game play system each player commands both the German and British Forces as they scour the sea-lanes in search of their next merchant prize. The game rewards cunning strategy, and fast-action card play

20 Raider card deck
60 Merchantman card deck
100 Action card deck

A new game that was recently revealed at GAMA has caught my eye. The name of the game is Arcane Legions.
You can learn more about them at their website here:
http://www.arcanelegions.com/
There’s also a preview of the game here:
http://www.icv2.com/articles/news/14766.html
What draws me to the game first of all is the setting. It’s sort of like historical mixed with some fantasy.
Next is the way they decided to do the collectible factor in this game. The ways to buy into this game makes the random collecting via a booster almost a non-issue. Here are their product offerings.
More than 110 25mm figures with small starter armies for all 3 factions. With formation bases, and base cards for a two player game. Non-blind purchase. Not exactly sure if these are pre-painted or not.
Army Pack – $14.99
An average of 40 25mm figures with packs that are faction specific. These are not pre-painted. Non-blind purchase.
Cavalry Pack – $14.99
An average of 14 25mm cavalry figures with packs that faction specific. These are not pre-painted. Non-blind purchase.
Booster Pack – $11.99
Booster packs are random but are faction specific and contain leaders and special arcane units. Contains 8 combat units with at least 1 rare painted leader figure and base card, 2 rare or uncommon units with their base card with an average of 3 painted figures, along with 5 formation base cards. They are shipped in faction specific bundles of 8. A purchase of this bundle will guarantee one of every figure for that faction.
Update! The Booster Packs will all contain 5-10 fully painted figures (depending on the size).
There are 3 faction that will be available when it is released. There’s Cleopatra’s Egypt, Augustus’ Rome, and the Chinese Han Empire. Expected release date is September 2009.
